John of Stoke By Nayland, 1750 to 1881
Note that these are "Beards" as distinct from "Beard". Does that allude to a different surname origin?
There is an element of supposition on my part in compiling the genesis of this family; a number of Beards were
born at similar times in Stoke By Nayland, and were all preceeded by a generational gap by John Beards, also of Stoke By Nayland.
I am pretty sure that this is right but a flick through the Stoke By Nayland registers may deliver the proof - unless as I
suspect the family were nonconformists.
After a fifty year period in Stoke By Nayland the family moves into the orbit of this study - ie Gosfield, Great Braxted,
Kelvedon and later Faulkbourne and Marks Tey, all in Essex
